Whiting Farms is helping to preserve the tradition of the Catskill style flies. Recreating the rich and vibrant natural colors these traditional flies used that were the foundation of fly tying. Great starter pack for the beginning fly tier, with four 1/2 capes covering the basic colors and patterns.

Good feathers for the price

For the price, you can’t go wrong with the intro hackle pack. The hackles are good quality and that’s all you really ask for when tying dries. I’ve fished the flies I tied with the hackles from this pack and they’ve survived after hooking several fish.
The only reason I don’t give the product an extra star is because the under feathers aren’t generally the same color as the top feathers. They’re black underneath, likely from the feathers being dyed. It’ll be a long time until I get into those feathers but it’s something to keep in mind. It’s not something you’ll generally see from a bronze pack, in my experience.
