If you were brought up on India Capes then you would know what to expect! Thee feathers are not genetically engineered like the expensive feathers from Whiting and such, The India cape feathers are shorter and not as consistent, but I can still tie what I need with them. I only tie what I intend to fish with and I can get 4 or 5 India capes for the Price of a Whiting half cape. I would not use them if I were a commercial tier and I do have a Whiting half cape in grizzly that is excellent Grizzly is my most used color.so I splurged on that. 60 years ago india necks were all I had, and I still caught fish.

I purchased these capes for nymph patterns , wet fly hackle and for muddled minnows. This is perfect for those types of fly’s. I would not consider these capes good for dry fly’s because they ate not fine enough. The hackle fibres are to long and the feather is not fine enough for me. Also would mention I make very few dry fly’s mostly a nymph fisherman
