Shimmer is a combination of very fine nylon fibers combined with holographic materials for it to swim and breathe.

Similar to a marabou but is much more resilient.
Superior strength so it can substitute for any lure recipe that generally calls for marabou.

use a few strands in

use a few strands in parachute fly posts, really helps to see fly in different lite conditions and as I get older. Works very well, mix colours a bit stands out even more and a bit of wrap with dubbing underneath and fish never know its there. I,m likely going to tie some streamers as well with it as intended and sure it will be good for that as well. really picks up light and nice and fine texture.

Such a wonderful material. It is a bit difficult to work with, but the end result is well worth it. Perfect combination of flash and beautiful synthetic fibres that are much tougher than marabou. Perfect material to use “tapering” scissors for that final finished look.
