These are the same indicators you have seen Phil and others use on television shows such as The New Fly Fisher. The black peg pinches a loop of leader/tippet against the indicator, holding it in place; and once a strike is recognized the loop is released, allowing the indicator to slide free. I

It does not interfere with landing the fish in any way. Simply superior for fly-fishing still waters, rivers and streams.

Small Round is 1 cm wide / Tapered is 1 cm to 0.5 cm

Medium Round is 1.5 cm wide / Tapered is 1.5 cm to 0.75 cm

Large Round is 2 cm wide / Tapered is 2 cm to 1 cm

slip strike indicators

They have to be re-set to depth after every fish,and I am often unsure of where exactly they were placed on the leader. So I have to re-measure. The florescent paint chips off the indicator quickly,and they are soft and not durable and wear out quickly. The Thill floats have a hard shell and are tough,but I don't know if they have self release model.
