I have been using a non rotary vice, learning to tie basic flies, but often would be frustrated, as it had many issues and limitations. The Renzetti Traveller is a top quality product, and I can now make a lot more detailed, difficult flies with ease, and as with all of my Togens orders, it was shipped within an hour of order being placed. The functionality of this vise works well. It securely holds a hook, and it's easy to adjust. The base has an adequate weight for tying most flies and performing various procedures. However, overall, I find it a bit underwhelming. While I understand that it's made in America, that doesn't really matter to me personally. I'm somewhat disappointed that there's an additional charge for an anodized finish. Although it functions perfectly fine without it, I would expect it to be included as a standard feature. The fit and finish are generally good, but I was let down by the number of plastic bolts. Considering I researched various budget vises online, I expected Renzetti to use higher quality materials throughout. While the plastic bolts do the job, I doubt that they'll outlast metal ones. Functionality-wise, they work, but I believe the materials could be improved for the same price.

Another drawback for me is the lack of adjustment for the angle of the clamp. I understand that it's designed as a travel vise, but with better ergonomics, it could be an excellent vise.

I have just started to attempt to get used to it and to try a couple of flies. It is so much easier having a left handed vice rather than trying to manipulate with my original. Thank you very much!
